The redcurrant belongs to the gooseberry family and is a European fruit. The fruits are also called "currants" because they normally ripen on 24 June, St John's Day, when they are ripe. They are known for their bright red colour and their typical fresh, delicately tart flavour. The berries are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and have a high vitamin C content.
Our "Ribisla" redcurrant fruit preserve is characterised by its bright red colour, intense aroma and slightly sour taste.
It is ideal for decorating yoghurt and ice cream
and ice cream sundaes as well as for refining cakes and tarts
