Fruit preserve black currant - From dark currants, intense in taste and with many vitamins. The currant (Ribes) belongs to the gooseberry family and is a European berry fruit. There is the red currant (Ribes rubrum) and the black currant (Ribes nigrum). The white currant is a cultivated form of the red currant. The black currant has the highest vitamin C content of all garden fruits. Its particularly intensely fragrant flowers are also used to make perfumes.
